Spina Bifida

Perhaps one the biggest challenges facing parents of children with spina bifida is the need to coordinate their child’s visits to multiple specialists. MUSC pediatric urology seeks to make things easier for parents and their children by participating in the comprehensive spina bifida clinic. 

In this clinic, children can be seen for their urological, neurosurgical, and general pediatric needs while being able to visit with occupational and physical therapists in one setting. 

MUSC Children’s Health offers the most advanced urological care for spina bifida cases with a multidisciplinary team, a dedicated pediatric video-urodynamic suite, and the latest in radiographic imaging. All types of treatment, from bladder Botox injections to the most cutting edge reconstructive surgical therapies, are available to our patients. 

MUSC is a study site for several pharmaceutical drug trials, which allows our patients access to the latest medical treatments that may not be available outside of a major academic children’s center.
