This manual contains much of the basic information you need in order to function during your Pediatric Emergency Medicine rotations. This manual is a dynamic publication. It can be edited as needed to reflect progress in the clinical practice of pediatric emergency medicine as well as changes in administrative policies and procedures in Pediatric Emergency Services.

This manual is divided into sections that are organized by related areas of information. We hope this will make it easy to find what you are looking for. If you notice areas of need, let us know and periodically we will provide an update packet of information to add to or replace existing material. In addition to the on-line version, you will receive a paper version to be placed in a three-ring binder with much more detail and a pocket version to be used as a clinical reference in many areas of the hospital, as well as the ED.

Previous contributors to this manual include: Drs. John Ringwood, Martha Wright, Cathy DeFoor, Doug Halbert, Fred Tecklenberg, Jennifer Tucker, Sally Webb, Hamilton Baker, and Rebecca Reamy. Many thanks to them for all of their hard work.
