Pediatric Nutrition Services

The Pediatric Dietitians at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) provide comprehensive nutrition services for patients of all ages in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The clinical staff develops appropriate nutrition care plans for infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of conditions. The nutrition care plans, include but not limited to, screens, assessments, counseling, education, and foodservice liaison.

Members of MUSC's Medical Team

The pediatric dietitians are an important part of the multidiscipline team at MUSC. They work closely with these teams in the hospital and outpatient clinics to provide patients with a continuum of care throughout all MUSC services. They routinely participate in team meetings for daily care called rounds, where the dietitian provides the nutrition recommendations needed for each patient. Also, the dietitians are involved with the team meetings for discharge planning, because the nutrition well-being of the patient does not end once they have left the hospital.

Pediatric Dietitian Staff

MUSC children's nutrition staff consists of seven Registered Dietitians in the inpatient and outpatient areas.
